Screenshot before the "Remove Duplicates" function is used.

Version: 2.3.2 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

If I have duplicate entries of files in the playlist, which are not part of the collection, the duplicate won´t be removed, if I invoke the "Remove Duplicates" function.
If they are part of the collection, the function works fine.

Tested this on 2 systems. Both gentoo with similar configuration.

amarok 2.3.1-r2 is also affected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add duplicate entries of files, which are not part of the collection with the "Add media..." dialog to the playlist.
2. Use the "remove duplicates" function to remove them.

Actual Results:
The duplicate entries are not removed.
If their source is in the collection, they are removed.

Expected Results:
All duplicate entries should be removed, no matter what is their source.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35-gentoo-r8
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc

I am pretty sure this is just not implemented.
Comment 3 Manuel Ullmann 2010-09-26 14:19:13 UTC
This might be the case. But every "normal" user would expect, that this function works for the whole playlist, wouldn´t he? Shouldn´t have been a huge amount of work to implement this from the beginning.

Well then, I guess it is right, to consider this as wishlist.

I don't use Amarok anymore and can't give any feedback. So I close it.
