Description Anders Lund 2010-09-21 10:36:39 UTC
Version: 1.4.0 (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

When imporeting RAW images from my Canon EOS 30D camera, the preview images are missing. Digikam uses time to fetch them, and I know they can be displayed, bucause they are used in the normal preview in album view.

The RAW format is canon raw (CR2)

This is since forever.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
import RAW images from a canon camera

Actual Results:
previews are not visible in camera GUI

Expected Results:
visible previews in camera GUI

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-ARCH
Compiler: gcc

Do you mean to preview image during download from camera ?

Comment 2 Anders Lund 2010-09-21 10:52:10 UTC
Yes, previews of images in the camera, which could be a help in selecting which images to download.
Comment 3 caulier.gilles 2010-09-21 10:57:10 UTC
No, You talking about to switch camera gui icon view to preview mode, as album gui.

I'm talking about to display image _during_ download, as iPhoto do currently.

Digikam camera GUI with different images

The JPEG image have a preview, the RAW images does not.
If I click on one of the RAW images, digikam opens the RAW conversion tool instead of displaying the embedded preview (which should also be in the thumb view)

I assume this is a bug in gphoto2?
Comment 6 caulier.gilles 2011-08-03 15:06:15 UTC
It's a problem in GPHOTO2 driver which cannot get RAW preview yet. Please report this problem to GPHOTO2 project.

Note : alternative is to use a Memory Card reader with your computer. UMS driver will be used instead and RAW will be previewed.
