When a file doesn't has a extension, dolphin guesses the filetype by looking at the data. But if a file has a wrong extension (like a mp3 file ends in .jpg) this doesn't work. If the user tries to open this wrong JPEG, he gets informat that this file isn't a real JPEG but he don' know the correct type.
So my Idea: Provide a little tool, that looks at the data and offeres to change the extension. Maybe as a seperate Program or as a entry in the right click menu in dolphin.

(I know there is 'file' but the average user doesn't want to use the cli)

Reproducible: Always
