As I write in the addressbar of a new mail window, the software produce a list of already know address (from addressbook or already received mail or used address). As I select the one I want, the address is not completed.

This doesn't occur if I shutdown kontact completely (eg, stop even the systray icon) and relaunch kmail only itself !

I observe exactly the same. Under Kontact some addresses are stored without the name, others do not appear at all etc., its a mix of complete and incomplete information.
However, address management works perfect when using Kmail just by itself. I am using openSUSE 11.3, KDE 4.5.

I cannot reproduce this issue with kdepim master. Feel free to reopen this report if you're able to reproduce with a recent kdepim version (>=4.7.1)
