Defaults in Icon view. Click Details button and hangs for over a minute before view switches. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Dolphin; defaults to Icon view
2. Click Details button
3. Hangs for at least a minute


Actual Results:  
Detail view appears

Expected Results:  
Instantaneous switch between view modes

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-25-generic

Thanks for the report, but I could not reproduce the issue. Could you please give more details:
- How many files are in the directory where you do the switch?
- Are previews enabled?
- What columns are enabled in the details view?
- Is the same time required when switching back to the icons view?

Works fine with Dolphin 17.12.3, closing for inactivity. Please reopen if you still experience this bug & provide more details if that's the case.
