- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I had just compiled the svn code of plasma-mediacenter
in this way:

svn co svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/playground/base/plasma/MediaCenterComponents/
cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix`
make
sudo make install

then, when I try to run plasma-mediacenter it doesn't start, crashing immediately.

prevent crashes in case of a bad install, or if the browser widget is changed to something else in the future; warn about this case if/when it happens as well

your install was broken (probably didn't run buildsycoca4 after installation?)

As the bug was caused by a bad installation, but a workaround was also introduced, let's consider this bug as FIXED.
