Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.5.0)
OS: Linux

Hi. I am testing KDEPIM 4.5 Beta 3, and it seems it does not idenetify if you are offline.

On my computer, which is not always connected to anything, I keep getting a popup complaing that akonodi can not authenthicate against the server. If I have the check mail interval enabled, that dialog keeps coming up, prompting the cancel, or change the password.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Set a mail account in kmail to check for mail, and then disconect it from the network.

Actual Results:
A dialog complains that it can not authenticate to the server. It prompts to change the settings

Expected Results:
Perhaps a one time notification that says that the server is down. It should determine if it can actually reach the server, before trying to authenticate to it.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-19-generic
Compiler: cc

What type of resource are you using (IMAP, POP3, etc.)?
Comment 2 bluescreenavenger 2010-09-11 01:44:29 UTC
Its POP3
Comment 3 Thomas McGuire 2011-01-07 11:33:05 UTC
Should be fixed in recent versions, the POP3 resource now no longer checks mail when offline.
