This screen show the correct colour display with vinagre on the same machine
This is not limited of MacOS; I see the same thing connecting to a VNC remote desktop running on a Linux box. It appears that the colours are displayed as BGR rather than RGB. I see the problem with 4.5.1 on Kubuntu, but not 4.4.4 on Pardus. None of the machines involved are are big-endian. The Kubuntu client is 64-bit, the Pardus on is 32-bit, I see the problem with both 32 and 64 bit servers. An earlier version (not sure if it was 4.4.x or 4.3.x) did give correct colours on the 64-but Kubuntu box. Bryan Sutherland: Did you have the same problem with the kde 4.4 krdc version? Is Desktop sharing on OSX a build in vnc server? I see it's possible to use Vino on OSX too. (I don't have a Mac OSX system) james tapin: I installed KDE 4.5.1 from the backports repository in kubuntu 10.04 64-bit client and I don't have this problem when connecting to x11vnc on 64-bit linux server or 32-bit linux server. Can you give more information about the server you connect to and your kubuntu version? Did you also install KDE 4.5.1 from the backports repository (ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports)? james tappin: Looks like Bryan has the problem on all quality settings, is the same true for you? Wouter: I have checked on an F13 box running 4.4.5 and can confirm that it is NOT exhibiting the same behaviour. Connections tested as high and medium connection speed. [bryan@hub] ~$ krdc -v Qt: 4.6.3 KDE Development Platform: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5) KRDC: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5) Cheers Wouter Van Meir: My KDE 4.5.1 is indeed installed on Kubuntu 10.04 from ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports The servers are both Debian: the 64 bit is on the current stable, while the 32-bit is a very out-of-date Sarge system. I've only tried the medium rate setting which is what krdc offered as a default (I don't think the network I have here would take fast). Isn't that a duplicate of bug 247149? This looks like a duplicate indeed. I noticed that with qemu as a VNC server the colors are wrong, but with "normal" (non vnc server) qemu the colors are also wrong (unless using -vga vmware). James and Bryan, are you using qemu VNC server? PS: using -vga vmware when using -vnc doesn't solve the problem. Hello Urs, I would have to tend to agree that the bugs appear to be the same. What steps would you like to test to 100% rule this in as dupe? I'm not using qemu as a VNC server, both servers are the AT&T plain X server, one is version 3.3.7 and the other 4.1.1+X4.3.0-31. In fact qemu is not installed on either machine. Because the bugs look the same I'll continue in this bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247149 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 247149 *** |

This is happening while setting all of the bandwidth options in the GUI everytime I connect. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Load KRDC Connect to OSX via Bookmark or New Connectionn dialog Actual Results: Connection succeeds however colours are incorrect Expected Results: Display colours correctly, or provide the ability to change the encoding used by vnc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35.4-12.fc14.x86_64 Compiler: gcc
