Description Maxime Gamboni 2010-09-02 10:54:05 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.0)
OS: Linux

It would be nice if kwallet had an option for grabbing the keyboard when asking for the kwallet master password (Like the (Qt) gpg pinentry program does, for instance).

It has happened many times to me that the kwallet dialog popped up but another windows was focused (for instance due to pop up prevention, or if the mouse pointer moved out of the kwallet window). I have accidentally posted my master passwords in IRC windows because of that.

Thanks!

Reproducible: Didn't try

I can confirm this!
Did now: Press Alt + F2 (KRunner) , entered "kopete", press enter.
Kopete starts as trayicon and I can see the dialog from kwallet. It's highlighted in taskbar but not in front as active window.
Pretty annoying!

I think nowadays focus stealing is not an issue anymore. There is bug 312325 with wayland thought where dialog is showing under other windows. I think this one can be closed and follow-up being bug 312325.

Excuse me and please reopen in case this issue is still important to you.
