It does not crash here… (rekonq compiled from git a minute ago)
Qt 4.7 git

It did not initially crash, quite frankly I do not know what changed that made it crash. It started off with rekonq refusing to loading pictures (red circle icon shown instead), so I quit rekonq and when I started it again it went down when I tried to go to facebook (which was about the first thing I did).

Sorry, I cannot reproduce this at all.

Maybe it is a Qt issue ... in any case there will be KDE and Qt updates deployed on Kubuntu today and/or tomorrow, I'll try and report back if anything changes.

Still there, with Qt 4.7rc1 and KDE 4.5.1.
Also it is a lot more random than I thought... I got it with go* and k*. Below is a trace I  got a minute ago when I wanted to get to wordpress.com

Can you check if it happens yet with 0.5.87?

I updated to 0.5.87 and the problem is still the same (crash, no matter what I write into URL bar)

I get the same crash only if I have disconnected from the Internet ("ifconfig eth1 down")

I had the same problem. When i typed in the url-bar rekonq always crashed. I deleted all config files and the rekonq-folder after that it started working with no issues.

BUT. if you add google.de as a favourite rekonq will crash AGAIN. 
I removed google.de from favourites and it works now.

Using 0.5.88 git 2010091311 from the lucid ppa.

The crash Harald pointed out seems a KDE/Qt one (rekonq crashes when we kill a job). It is strange it happens just for *ubuntu users. It needs anyway more investigation.
The one you reported one is "strange" and different (probably rekonq's fault). Can you attach the "google.de" crash backtrace?

This strange url-bug seems to be fixed in rekonq 0.6.0+git2010091420 . I
cant reproduce it. So no further investigation necessary.
 If something is wrong again ill report with backtrace ;)

For me the bug unfortunately still appears with 0.6.0. Though it seems to me like it takes some more time to crash as it took before. The bar expands when I write something into it ...then it takes some time ...then it crashes.

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I was typing an address in the URL bar and it crashed. I'm using a Bespin stype, I don't know if this could be related.

Hi,
rekonq started to crash when typing to urlbar, after i upgraded to kde 4.5.1 (from qt-kde.debian.net) and qt 4.7.0-rc1  (from debian experimental) 
when i type into urlbar it just crashes.
after removing ~/.kde/share/config/rekonqrc everything was ok
i tried to add configsections and crash started to appear again after adding this

I'm pretty much sure that is due to bug in QtGui that is fixed now in 4.7.1

I'm happy to say it no more happens here since... 0.6 beta period. Closing as fixed.
