Can confirm this is still an issue. The Collection Browser completely ignores the "Disc Number" Tag if present. So if you got a multidisc Album (usually 2, but could be more) and have the same string as Album Title in the Tags, but - as it would be usually correct - track numbers starting with 1 for each disc, the collection browser makes it impossible to select a single disc if you don't add something like "(disc 1)" etc. to the album title tag - and thereby simulating different album titles. Which is common user behaviour, but not neccesarily the only or *the* correct way. The disc number tag should be respected if present - as it is by the playlist, if you add a complete album. there the tracks will be sorted by disc number first, then track number. Somethin like this should already be possible within the visualisation of the collection browser. Maybe add "Disc Number" as Option for the sorting, and enable it by default as third layer? Just Reproduced with: Amarok Version 2.9.71 Unter KDE Frameworks 5.115.0 STEP TO REPRODUCE 1. Take 4 or more music Files (MP3, or whatever) 2. Tag at least two with the same disc number (1) and two with another disc number (2) 3. Tag one of each disc number as track 1, the other as track 2, (... and so on) 4. Tag all Files with the same artist and same Album title and year 5. Add all files to your amarok collection 6. browse to the album in the collection browser => See the result. First both tracks with track number 1 are listed, then both with track number 2. Disc number is just ignored. (7. Just for comparison: Add the album to the playlist to see the difference how it could/should be) Created attachment 167554 [details]
Collection browser, with album CD 1 tracks followed by CD 2 tracks
"6. browse to the album in the collection browser
=> See the result. First both tracks with track number 1 are listed, then both with track number 2. Disc number is just ignored."
Hmm, interesting. Although there is indeed no specific indication of the actual disc number, my multi-CD albums are listed CD 1 tracks first, then CD 2 and so on (as visible on the attached screenshot). I thought it is because I always have CDs in separate folders in filesystem. However, I tried moving a track from CD2 folder to CD1 and it still was listed at its right place amidst the CD2 tracks.
