when I adjust the date time then click apply it brings up the dialog for the password(good) but it also has one that asks if I want to switch to dialog . It not needed and gets in the way or goes to the back ground some times. plus a knotify crash popup.

not see those popups

Yes, the password dialog should be modal. That is being worked on (hopefully for KDE 4.5.2).

sounds good :) cause its still the same in 4.5.1 now I see why
