Version:           4.0.1 (using KDE 4.4.5)

It would be very developer-friendly to have per-project editor settings, e.g. indentation width, in kdevelop.  A good place to store the settings is somewhere below the project root, e.g. in .kdev4.

just use kate config files:

it should be made more obvious though, maybe even with a UI to create such files, along with syncing it with the astyle settings.
