There's a great JavaScript library for doing popups and dealing with DHTML layers easily (i.e. without worrying what browser you're using) called Overlib.  It doesn't work with the current Konqueror although it appears to making an effort: see http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/ for source and examples.

v4 doesn't work in 3.3.0
If you visit the overlib home page nothing on the front page works :(

The JS debugger reports..
Error: http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/overlib.js: TypeError: Null value
Error: http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/: SyntaxError: Parse error at line 25
Error: http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/overlib_hideform.js: ReferenceError: Can't find variable: capExtent

Please open a new bug report. They seem to have changed their code
