With version 2.4.5 it is not possible to change the settings of umbrello.
From the menu -> Preferences -> Umbrello Config -> Class -> Change the "Show only public" -> then press "Apply", nothing happens. The preferences remains unchanged

Preferences should change after setting it.

New user, but I just came across this same problem. I'm using Slack 13.37 with KDE 4.5.5

Could not reproduce this issue with version 2.10.5 (KDE 4.10.5) and newer; seems to be fixed.
