Invisible analog clock
KDE: 4.5.80 (4.6 Beta1) still broken (Nvidia Twinview) Clock bug in 4.6 RC 1 Correct clock |
||
Confirming this for a clock on the screensaver. Confirming this for a clock on the screensaver. Most of the time the clock is not visible, only the ends of the hands are visible in a very broken way (cut off, or even reversed). Because this is on the screensaver page I cannot provide a screenshot (unless someone tells me how to do it). I have setup KDM to autologin and immediately lock the screen. If I wait for plasma/screensaver to load/initialise/show, before providing my password, I can usually see the clock as it should be. However, the next time the screensaver shows, the clock will be "gone". P.S: Intel graphics card, kwin compositing disabled, package from Kubuntu 10.04 Backports: 4:4.5.1-0ubuntu1~lucid1~ppa2 P.P.S: The same can be confirmed for an analogue clock on screensaver when using Gentoo/Linux and KDE 4.5.1 and an Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS graphics card / nvidia-drivers. I confirm this for KDE 4.4.5 on Debian Testing. I have locked plasmoids perhaps it has something to do with this !? Kwin Effects are off. *** Bug 254854 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Confirming this for x11-drivers/xf86-video-nouveau-0.0.16_pre20100819 and kde-4.5.2 with s/w OpenGL rasterizer (-> disabled compositing), too. Even though I'm still with KDE SC 4.4.5 on debian I think I can add some information. In my case is reproducible always if I log in and plasma-desktop starts the session in the activity where the analog clock is not placed, but if it starts in the activity where the clock is, it looks correct. The same happens if I do kquitapp plasma-desktop && plasma-desktop Created attachment 54078 [details]

Correct clock
What the clock should look like
happens to me too, resizing the clock fixes it for that login at least. Seems to be solved in 4.6.0. Yes appears to be fixed in 4.6.0 so closing. |
Created attachment 50555 [details] Invisible analog clock Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.0) OS: Linux Qt: 4.6.3 KDE Development Platform: 4.5.00 (KDE 4.5.0) Plasma Workspace: 0.3 OS: opensuse 11.3 x86_64 I have analog clock widget on desktop. Sometimes on login, analog clock disappears. However it shows clock hands and also if we click on blank area where analog clock was, it also shows calendar. I've attached screenshot showing clock hands, invisible lock(how can I show invisible clock :D) and calendar when clicking in clock are. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add analog clock widget to desktop. 2. Check it's status on reboot/login cycles. Actual Results: Sometimes analog clock disappears, showing just clock hand(s). Clicking on clock area shows calendar though. Expected Results: Analog clock should be always visible once added on desktop.
