This is my first KDE bug report, and I'm not familiar with the bug reporting system yet. I've seen in the summary that it says: Version: 3.5 (using KDE 1.2) Just to clarify: I'm using KDE 3.5.10 (Konqueror reports version 3.5.9 in its About dialog). Hi! I'm sorry, but Konqueror 3.5 is no more mantained. This bug will not be fixed in KDE 3. Anyway a related bug has already been submitted against KDE 4 ( bug #245125 ). Thanks for your report anyway :-) Hi, and thanks for your quick reply. I thought that this would be the case, since the KDE 3.5 series has been discontinued. Anyway I decided to file the bug for future reference, so that people facing the same problem can at least find out that this is a known issue. With regard to bug 245125, it seems to me that it's not the same problem, even when it might be related as you mentioned. In my tests witht konqueror on KDE 3.5.10, mounting a samba directory manually or accessing it directly through smb:// doesn't seem to make a difference. However, I've also noticed the following. On a directory with about ~1000 files, if you add a new folder (through the context menu, Create new folder), it can take a lot of time for that folder to show up. The folder creation operation completes immediately, but it just doesn't show up until several seconds later (up to 20-30" in some cases). I don't know if this is related to the way in which konqueror handles directory sorts (I always have sort by name enabled), but it might be. Anyway, thank you for your time. I really appreciate your feedback on this. |
