I believe, kopete lacks the feature to set and remember default spellchecking language and if possible keyboard layout for each contact separately.

I think, there should be separate menu item in chat window for quick settings. Also it should be possible to define language in contact's properties.

I'm not sure about assigning this request to kopete devs, as contacts are managed by akonadi AFAIK, and all relating info is also managed by it.

This bug is almost same as bugs #98295 and #149768 (and a few more, probably).

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
