I played with SVN trunk yesterday, and the first visual annoyance was, that the System monitor disk space plasmoid no longer fits into my vertical panel. Please have a look at the before (4.4.5) and after screenshots in this forum post: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=89492#p166410
The icon is unnecessary, since the textual description will tell the user what the bar is about.

Put the System Monitor Disk Space plasmoid into a (vertical) panel

Looks ugly and broken
