I had to google to find out what Dropbox is :) You are correct that KJots 4.4 loads its data only on application start. It has been rewritten in 4.5 though and ported to Akonadi, so now the solution for this bug is to write a Dropbox Akonadi resource or proxy resource with support for notes. KJots will then use it automatically including auto-refresh. Is not this bug fixed since KDE application 4.13? https://www.kde.org/announcements/4.13/applications.php Thank you for the bug report.
