Description Francesco 2010-08-02 23:25:32 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

On a 100 Mbit network the sftp client from shell transfers files at a speed of 11.1 MiB/sec. Instead the sftp client integrated in dolphin does not exceed 4 MiB/sec.

why dolphin is slower than pure sftp ?

Reproducible: Always

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32
Compiler: cc

Hi Francesco! Would you like to try smb protocol too? Is it slower than expected?

Many thanks.
Comment 2 Francesco 2010-08-03 20:51:29 UTC
Yes, when I download a file from SMB protocol with Dolphin the speed oscillates between 3.8 MiB/sec and 6.5 MiB/sec
Comment 3 FiNeX 2010-08-10 22:48:36 UTC
Thanks. Moved to KIO.

Same problem w/ KDE's 4.5.2 Dolphin -- about ~2 MB/s with Dolphin, about ~11 MB/s with sftp... This is really annoying.

The sftp speed issue is being tracked at bug 218798. Merging. Thanks
