Description Sabine Faure 2010-07-15 22:36:05 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

When using html to write an email, insert a list using bullet points and then center it. The bullet points are displayed on the left hand side whereas the text is centered.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kontact and go to Kmail
- Click on 'New Message' button
- Go to Settings menu/Toolbars Shown/Navigator
- The html toolbar appears at the top of the 'Composer' dialogue
- Fill in the recipient, the subject and enter a list in the text editor
- Select the list and then select 'Square' instead of 'None' from the top left combo box
- Now select the list and click on the centered icon from the Navigator tool bar
- Click on 'Send'

Actual Results:
The message is sent but when the recipient gets it the bullet points are on the left hand side and the text is centered

Expected Results:
whereas both the bullet points and text should be centered.

Note: to view the html version if it is not displayed at all, right click in the message body on 'Show Message structure' and then on the html document from the table that has appeared.

Generated html is not correct in qt4...
Will look at it

I was going to try to reproduce this issue, but I see no action to insert a list (KMail 4.9.1). Was it removed from the email editor? Because in that case, this report should probably be closed.

not still valid
Comment 5 Adrián Chaves (Gallaecio) 2012-09-18 21:29:07 UTC
Ok, it’s the combobox at the beginning of the toolbar — as you say in your steps. Sorry I missed it. I can confirm the bug in KMail 4.9.1 as well.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
