does Tools->Spelling find mispelled words? what's the language is specified in .po file? (open it in usual text editor to see the header) You are right! Tools -> Spelling works and fixing the language in the .po manually fixed the problem. However, the spelling checker shouldn't consult the language line on the file but the text itself. That's especially useful for mixed languages translation e.g. we translate some words to Arabic but leave some words as English. Just like in koffice, you can spellcheck any multi-lingual document. a note for myself: that's two issues - one for sonnet to do spellcheck against several dictionaries at one time. and the second is to check consistency between Tools -> Spelling and inline checker.
