Description Stefano 2010-07-07 09:32:48 UTC
Version: 2.0 beta1 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

I have around 20 folders in my emai account, where the Inbox folder has ~25k emails (occupying ~6GB) while the other folders contain less messages (100 on average).

I did not use the migrator, as I started with a newly created user. I also disabled nepomuk in the system settings.

Using the wizard that appears on the first launch of kmail, I tried to create a disconnected imap account (by checking "download messages for offline use"). The akonadi imap resource started synchronizing a folder with 400 messages (occupying 45MB) but never completed the synchronization. I tried three times with no success (every time deleting .kde4, .local, .config). Suddenly, the akonadi imap resource became idle and since then there was no progress. Clicking on such folder to view the message list does not show any message in the folder, despite the .local/share/akonadi/db_data folder had grown up to 4-5 GB.
After relaunching kmail, I got an error message saying that akonadi was unable to start (with many errors in the log) and kmail closed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start with a fresh kde account, launch kmail and try to create a disconnected imap account.

Actual Results:
The creation of the disconnected imap account fails (it seems it will never end)

Expected Results:
The creation of the disconnected imap account terminates successfully

I also have this problem and it makes kmail useless for me (it was my main email client, now I'm considering downgrading or changing)

Closing this bug because the issue is no longer present in KMail 2.0.95.
