Description Alejandro Nova 2010-07-05 17:53:51 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

When I try to import data into KMail2 Akonadi database, and the import is incomplete, a lot of incomplete "Local Folders" resources are generated, with duplicate data. I can't delete that duplicate data with right click + Remove Folder, since that option is greyed out. As a result, I have to manually open the Akonadi table in a SQL manager and do the work the hard way.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to import your KMail 1 database twice or more.
2. Watch some duplicate Local Folders entries.
3. Try to delete them. It will be impossible to do so.

Actual Results:
I can't delete duplicate data, and I have to load Akonadi tables with a DB editor or directly via SQL commands.

Expected Results:
I can delete the duplicate data with a mouse click. This should be of course made moderately difficult (with a warning dialog, for example), but keeping it impossible is a bug for me.

I can confirm this bug with KDEPIM 4.6 Beta3.

I also had this problem and solved it by using akonadiconsole. Specifically, right click on local folder, click properties properties, then acl tab and enable Delete in collection access rights. Hope it helps.

This bug has only been reported for versions older than KDEPIM 4.14 (at most akonadi-1.3). Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a recent version of akonadi (part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
