Description Sabine Faure 2010-06-30 23:32:24 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

When launching kab-mobile on a N900 there is no progress bar displayed indicating that the programme is launching. It only appears later (after at least 10 seconds) meanwhile the user wonders why the application is stuck.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch kab-mobile on a N900
- The main window appears

Actual Results:
But everything is frozen, whatever the user does nothing happens.
After a while a progress bar indicates that the application is launching.

Expected Results:
Launch progress bar should be displayed immediately and not just after a while.

Is this still valid with version 20100827.1168749 ? The splash screen shows the akonadi startup bar for me and therefore I can see some progress.

Like Bjoern, I observed a better situation with 4:4.5~20100912.1174548-1maemo1.1173569 as well. Not optimal, but okay.
Please confirm and close issue.
Comment 3 Sabine Faure 2010-09-16 21:03:48 UTC
I retested this today and there is no more progress bar at all once the main Kab-mobile window is displayed.

However, I think it would be best to have one from the launch start and not just when the main window appears (see related Kmail-mobile bug #251491).

In any case I am reopening this bug.

Comment 4 Felix Wolfsteller 2010-10-22 12:48:43 UTC
I think sometimes it doesnt show up at all (when interactive with the device while the application starts up). I think there is a separate issue, but cant find it right now. Should be DUP'ed if that issue exists.

Affects N900 only, on WinCE you immediately get the spinning loading indicator, thus no komo3 tag.
