-- Information about the crash:
About ½ an hour before the crash I had rearranged my main panel. When I came back to the PC the crash dialog was there and the panel was messed up. Thats the only thing I can think of that could have caused this.
I do have some problems with my Intel 865G chipset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585734 - it might be part of the problem but the was nothing in /var/log/Xorg.0.log or /var/log/kern.log.
