Do you have Desktop Effects enabled? Also, does switching the graphics driver in use ( eg: to vesa ) change this? And as I noted, I have an ATI Radeon 2600 Pro graphics card and I'm using the "radeon" ("video-ati") driver. Please file a bug with the driver maintainer, it is a bug in the X driver you are using. Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux On Mandriva Cooker with KDE-4.5.x-beta, whenever I change the widget style in the systemsettings, then the entire X-Windows system hangs. My system's specs are: <<<< My primary machine is a desktop machine with a: * Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz CPU. * 2.5 GB of RAM. * An ATI Radeon HD 2600 card. * One 160 GB Hard-disk and two smaller ones of 80 GB or so. * A 19" LCD Screen by ViewSonic. * A standard built-in AC'97 sound-card. >>>> Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type systemsettings from the command-line. 2. Change the widget style from Oxygen to cleanlooks or back. Actual Results: The entire X-Windows system hangs. The mouse cursor still moves, but it doesn't affect anything. I can only Ctrl+Alt+Backspace the env to exit it. Expected Results: The widget style should be changed and the environment proceed as normal.
