Perhaps next to the "search in" options in the search bar could be an "add search folder" options.

What version is this fixed in?  I don't see this in 4.6.1.

The UI hasn't changed much in this regard in Dolphin 24.12.1. I can see the utility of having the ability to choose folders to search in. I'll let the current Dolphin maintainers evaluate this.
