No it won't happen because this is too dangerous (has been discussed=20
before several times). There's not problem with sending mail to the trash.

The problem is that it still shows up as (1) unread mail in there.
This is mostly a psychological problem I admit but neithertheless.

What about creating a 'Set Mail Status to Read' filter?

Hmm and I just checked Netscape Mail and they are not afraid to offer 
a 'Delete' option ;)

There was a patch for that on the kmail@kde.org mailing list. Patch your
kmail recompile and you have that. Also it will be there when I've
finished the big filtering rework.

AFAIK that just moves the mail to the trash.

Please note that if you use that patch you have to use the other patch that 
was sent with it.  Otherwise the widgets become misaligned.
