Sentry Crash Report:

Description Thomas Damgaard 2010-06-21 11:53:38 UTC
Version:           2.0.85 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS:                Linux

When Automatic spell check is enabled, scrolling in a .tex-file becomes unbearingly slow.
It is especially slow, if you scroll by holding down shift and arrow-down/-up, thus marking the text.

The slowness is possibly related to the amount of incorrectly spelled words.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1: Create a new tex-file
$ wget -O /tmp/foo.tex http://paste.adora.dk/P1701.txt

2: Open the file in Kile
$ kile /tmp/foo.tex

3: Enabled spell checking: Click: Tools > Automatic Spell Checking

4: Hold down Shift and Arrow-down.

5: Observe the slowness.

Actual Results:
Automatic spell checking makes kile slow to the point of it being almost unusable.

Expected Results:
No noticable slowness. Other text-editors with automatic spell checking does not have this problem.

I can confirm this (ussing kde sc 4.5 rc2). But I think it is not related to spell check but with code completition becase running kile from console It rapidly floow all the buffer with:

kile(5888)/Kate _shouldStartCompletion: You are using a deprecated API, this will break in KDE 4.6, please port your module to the new KTextEditor::CodeCompletionModelControllerInterface3
