Description Andres Ruiz 2010-06-13 05:03:08 UTC
Version: 4.4 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

For the last 8 hours I have been ripping my whole CD collection and while I find that the KIO Slave method is very easy to use and very acurate, its performance is subpar. On a decent modern system the avarage rip speed reported by the system is 80 kb/s. My download speed is alot faster, so why should I bother ripping CD's. In windows the speed would be amazing, here its not so much.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Insert a audio cd to the cd drive.
Copy the MP3 folder to your home folder
Whatch the speed via the notification system.

Actual Results:
Slow transfer speeds

Expected Results:
Fast speeds, at the very least 500 kb/s

I'm starting to learn the KDE development enviorment and have a couple VM's to mess with, if any dev could provide me with more info on how I could fix this would be helpfull but id rather have someone with more knowledge do this.
