i think this is fixed in trunk Sure? I had quite the same problem with Beta1 and you also told me its fixed in trunk ;) if you open the activity manager (meta-q is the shortcut, but it's also in the desktop toolbox and context menus), do you see multiple activities listed? if so, are the other activities your old layouts? if you put a widget on the desktop, kquitapp plasma-desktop and start plasma-desktop again, does the widget remain or is it gone as well? etc.. 1. Yes I see multiple activities listed. I see: newspaper, folderview, desktop, search. 2. If I kwuittap plasma-desktop and restart it again, I get again a Desktop view, all applets I added are gone and the desktop background is missing. I attached the output created during plasma-startup, maybe that contains some information. Created attachment 47917 [details]

" Yes I see multiple activities listed. I see: newspaper, folderview, desktop, search." uh, you're looking at the 'new activity' menu inside the activity manager, instead of the list of existing activities below that. click one of those. after that, the beta2 bug won't affect you any more. :) anyways, this is a duplicate, fixed already. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 238699 *** |
