Description Srinivas Rao N 2010-06-11 05:03:48 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux

I installed Kubuntu 10.4 from live CD and updated the software.

This is the first time, am using Kubuntu/linux on my acer aspire 5100.
Closed my laptop - goes to suspend or sleep state and opened after coming home. Now, the background of the login screen shows invalid screen - blue bars and junk screen.

Could not able to find mouse cursor, and after playing for a while - could able to login and the mouse cursor still looks like a rectangular blob.

Reproducible: Didn't try

unfortunately, mouse cursor is not captured in screen shots

This sounds like a graphics driver issue, not correctly handling suspend/resume cycles. Which graphics chipset does your system use?

most likely a graphics driver problem, indeed
