That is not a popup, but an expander. To get rid of it, click the arrow, or anywhere else on the line. Thanks, that is correct and useful. It is not an intuitive UI though, a little "link (look like web browser hyperlink" that says "(close)" which when you hover over it pops up information telling you that you can also close the expander by clicking anywhere in the same pane outside of the expander would be a good feature addition. A real designer should design the popup which appears when you hover over the close after a brief (maybe 0.5 second period) so it isn't annoying.
