Description Maciej Pilichowski 2010-06-08 21:18:46 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

I noticed that while "using" Kmail. Again, again and again -- reusing icons in different contexts is bad!

Error dialog reuses close/exit icon as error icon. The result? -- Joe Doe is happy that this dialog is so convenient, so she/he can close it by clicking on this big "close" icon instead of usual small one. Ooops... it does not close anything.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
Distinct icon for meaning "error".

Thanks !
Yes there is obviously a problem.
Namely, with oxygen,

actions/application-exit.png

and

status/dialog-error.png

Are the same icon.

It seems to me that something like
emblems/emblem-important.png would do a better job for dialog-error.
But that's change that Nuno only could do :) (or validate)
Comment 4 pinheiro 2012-01-17 01:33:12 UTC
problem is not the icon but the UI the icons need to be "watermarked" if we want to use it as a simple ilustration
