Description Greg Anderson 2010-06-01 20:49:31 UTC
Version: 1.12.4 (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS: Linux

In kmail 1.11.2, if I selected an email message from a particular user and then changed the sort order to "Sender", I would see all of the messages from that sender -- the message that I had selected remained selected when the sort order changed. In kmail 1.12.4, the most recently received message in a folder is selected whenever the sort order changed. That means that I have to go scrolling through the messages in the folder to re-find the user I was looking for. I preferred the previous behavior, where the selected message remains stable when the sort order changes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Select any message in any folder other than the most recently received message in that folder. Change the sort order to sort by another column, e.g. Sender or Subject.

Actual Results:
The most recent message received in that folder is selected.

Expected Results:
The message that was selected prior to changing the sort order should remain selected.
