Bug 240108

Summary: Tabbing in the Pay To field does not select the top Payee of the automatch list

Description Brian 2010-05-30 18:02:25 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

With "Match names from start" enabled, a list of existing payees is shown when a name is started. However, the name at the top of the list is not selected, requiring the user either to completely retype the name or to use the mouse to select the name at the top of the list.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
In a new transaction, begin typing in a payee that has been previously used
Before completing the full name, tab out of the field
You will be prompted to create a new payee

Actual Results:
You are prompted to create a new payee

Expected Results:
The top payee on the list should have been selected such that tabbing would autocomplete the correct name. If I want to create a new payee that is similar to but not identical to an existing name, force me to click in the Pay To field to move the focus back to the entry field.

I have "autofill" disabled and "Match names from start" enabled in the ledger settings.

The Category field exhibits the expected behavior.

Thanks Thomas for all the quick support.

I have yet to install KMM4 from source and so it may take a bit for me to try out these fixes to see if they behave as I expect from KMM2. I do know that when you roll the release number my distro is packaging these quickly. I look forward to the next roll.

Thanks again, your support is very much appreciated!
