another information: kmail uses always the DEFAULT (preferred) smtp account, the first configuration isn't considerable. hi thomas, i'm sorry if i have added you to CC list but this bug prevents me to use kmail, i really need to resolve it. thanks Don't add me to the CC list, I already receive these bug mails. Sending with different outgoing accounts work for me, I use View->Mailtransport in the composer for that. in the composer there are no entries about outgoing accounts. i set them up throught (it can slightly be different 'cause i'm italian) Configure KMail -> Accounts -> sendings. unfortunately, i can't choose to send an e-mail with the not-default account : ( please, i need some help!!! > in the composer there are no entries about outgoing accounts.
In the composer, check the View menu, there you can enable setting outgoing accounts, with View->Mailtransport.
thank you thomas, but the problem persists. it is a real issue, i first used the option in the send button, but even using the option you suggested me the issue occurs the same: kmail uses tiscali.it as mailtransport, but if i go to outoging mail i note that the sender is "name@alice.it" and not "name@tiscali.it", this is a strange behaviour and problably the cause of the issue. this is the error i receive: smtp.tiscali.it: Socket operation timed out [cut] It has been used this transport: Tiscali.it i have some news: i've created 2 identities with 2 special mailtransport; the first account (Alice) has out.alice.it as special mailtransport, while the second one (Tiscali) has smtp.tiscali.it as special mailtransport. Now, using the second identity the e-mail sender is correct (name@tiscali.it) and the mailtransport the same, but the problem persists. maybe it can be a configuration issue? there is a way to understand if is the configuration wrong? i'm using: - no encryption - authentication requested - record password - authentication method: login cheers, Marcello *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 218986 *** |
