patch

The line:

e.text format + = ();

generates a custom format, which is then used in KSpread: ValueFormatter:: formatText, formatString =($ 0.00) by adding the $ symbol.

Tested and with doc and passed...

Snapshot showing the problem

Hi Juan,

great patch! After a bit of testing I don't think that it's correct or at least it's not complete.

First if you load the document into KSpread vs OO.org and then look at the secon d sheet at the format of D4 then it's Generic in KSpread and Currency in OO.org.

Second I am not sure if this isn't the wrong $ that got removed with the patch. In the edit-field the $-sign is visible (see attached screenshot) in KSpread but not in OO.org. You can just remove that sign there in KSpread now.

There is a theird problem. If I select in KSpread those cell D4 from the second sheet and then in the menu select Format=>Cell Format and explicit select a Money-format and change the currency to e.g. "Dollar" and press ok, then the cell doesn't display a $-sign. If I do the same in OO.org then the Dollar-sign is displayed.

It looks for me as there are multiple things that are wrong here and I am absolute unsure that the patch really does improve the situation. In any case I guess we need to fix at least the proper displaying. Displaying two $$ is as wrong as displaying no $.

Ok, patch incorrect, I give a second try later...
