SOFTWARE VERSION:
  Kubuntu 9.04
  Koffice (svn version 1007302)
  Test document (MS Word 2003): four_frames_text.doc in test_frames_example.zip

STEPS LEADING TO THE PROBLEM:
  1. Open the attached document (four_frames_text.doc) in MS Word 2003.
  2. Open the same document in KOffice.
  3. Observe the opened document.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
  Document should be opened along with frames (above, below,left right)  inserted. See attachment four_frames_text_msword_2003.png 

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
  Document opens showing an error message :
  "This page uses frames, but your browser doesn`t support them"
  see attachment four_frames_text_kword_svn_1007302.png

If this support can not be enabled then a better error message should be devised and implement. This sort of text is not suitable for us..

Error message is not shown. Blank page is shown.

The problem with the message is that it's actually contained in the document, not generated by Words.

And I don't think that words should actually implement the frames functionality of MS Word -- it's the old way of creating websites in a word processor which nearly nobody uses anymore.
