Description Przemyslaw Kaminski 2010-05-26 13:30:16 UTC
Version: SVN trunk (KDE 4) (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

This is more of an annoyance rather than a bug. Say you get a big e-mail with attachments and click on it in the message list, then obviously it gets downloaded. But then when one clicks 'Reply' the whole message is being downloaded with attachments. This takes long and is usually unnecessary since I seldom send back attachments. In fact, KMail shouldn't even download the original message since it already has the message when one views it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- View the email in KMail
- Hit 'Reply'

Actual Results:
The whole message is downloaded with attachments.

Expected Results:
The composer window should open up immediately, with original text quoted (or whatever the user has set up) and attachment should only be downloaded when one explicitly wants to send it back.

I use IMAP accounts so I don't know if this is the same with POP.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
