Description Adam Porter 2010-05-25 15:02:16 UTC
Version: 0.8.1 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux

I had imported a bunch of URLs into KGet. It was great that it was able to automatically dig them out of a Firefox DownThemAll SQLite file. A little while later, X crashed, and when I restarted KGet, the download list was empty.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add some downloads to KGet.
2. Kill KGet.
3. Restart KGet.

Actual Results:
The downloads are gone.

Expected Results:
KGet should have saved the download list. It should update it every 15 seconds, and it should update it every time a download's status is changed, e.g. when a download is completed, added, paused, etc.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-22-generic
Compiler: cc

Actually that is what it does.

Currently (in 4.4 and trunk) it works this way:
A download gets added/removed/moved/finishes a save is being requested.

When it takes 5 seconds until it is finally saved, if inbetween another download gets added it won't change the time, i.e. if at that point only 3 seconds were needed then after adding another download still only 3 seconds are needed.

The Transfers also get saved when KGet is closed.

So I can't reproduce your issue, it might be that you killed it before 5 seconds passed.

Thanks for your reply, Matthias. However, that's not what happened. It was at least 15 minutes between when I added the downloads to KGet and when X crashed, but when I restarted KGet, the download list was completely empty.

Ok, can you please post the debug output of KGet?
If you have compiled it yourself make sure to compile it in debug mode.

Can you preoduce it always when simply killing KGet or when killing X? Can you please post the version number of KGet (Help/About KGet)?
