Description Scott Ryan 2010-05-23 17:33:35 UTC
Version: 1.1.0 (using KDE 4.4.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

When importing images from a source there is an option to create a destination folder.

I would like to see the option to automatically create folders based on the date stamp contained in the EXIF. i.e. if a picture was taken in 2009-07-23 then the folder structure :

2009/July/23 (or some derivative)

would be created and the image would then be copied to that folder. All subsequent images imported that has the matching date would be imported into the same folder.

It's already implemented. Try digiKam 1.2.0

I'm a digiKam 1.2.0 user on kubuntu Lucid Lynx and I no longer see the option for automatic folder creation based on the date of the photos.
This function is not implicit because after importing the photos I have no folder, created with file dates, on the root folder of my album.

Oscar,
