Description Magnus Johansson 2010-05-21 10:27:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian stable Packages

1. Open Settings
2. Press Tab to move the cursor from the search field to the first tab in the window. This works as expected.
3. Press Left or Right arrow to move the cursor between the two tabs. This works as expected.
4. Press Tab again to move the cursor to the first item in the tab. This works as expected.
5. Press (repeatedly if necessary) the first letter of another item to move the cursor there, e.g. press D four times to move the cursor to Display. This works as expected.
6. When the Display pane is opened the cursor is not seen. It should be on the first (Size & Orientation) item in the field to the left but is not there.

Keyboard navigation between frames, fields, drop-down menus expandable lists and groups of buttons is from here not consistent. For example should the arrow keys move the cursor between buttons grouped together.

Is that a problem in every module or only in specific modules?
Comment 2 Magnus Johansson 2010-05-21 12:59:27 UTC
It seems like the same problems occur in every module (Appearance, Desktop, etc). There is also a problem with the cursor not returning to the item field when you press Alt+Left arrow from e.g. the Display pane; it instead returns to the first tab (General).

Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!
Comment 4 Magnus Johansson 2018-11-03 07:09:13 UTC
Dear Andrew,

I have now tried to test, but I believe the GUI has changed so much since May 2010 so this bug is probably not relevant any longer.

Thank you for providing us with and working on improving the already very nice KDE!
