Does this still happen with KDE 4.9 or newer ? I can't reproduce it. With a high level of difficulty, puzzle creation takes a lot of time (see bug 256807) and blocks the application for a long time. But that's 100% reproducable, not only 2 times out of five... As of KDE SC 4.8 there has been a new puzzle generator that goes much faster and produces a true range of puzzle dificulties, not mainly easy ones. It is time I mopped up some of those very old bug reports.
