hi, in the meantime, it got worse. i've been away for a few days, so there were more mails than usual on the POP3 server. as i'm writing this, kmail shows more than <strike>1100</strike> <strike>1200</strike> 1500 supposedly new mails, about 95% of them duplicates. but the worst part is that kmail/kontact is not responding to anything -- actually for more than one and a half hour now. i've tried killing the process (since i wasn't able to shut it down otherwise) and restarting it, but it just contienues where it was interrupted: fetching the same mails over and over again, slowly counting them down (it started with about 120 new mails, now its down to 18, so hopefully i'll be able to clean up the mess some time later this evening...). unfortunately, in this state kmail has become totally useless for me. i actually had to read all mails with an instance of claws in the meantime to not lose a whole hour. i have the same problem on three different machines. i got the same problem: 4.4.3 packages from the PPA repository (kubuntu 10.04 LTS)... Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback. |
