Description Tenno Seremel 2010-05-18 11:07:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Please provide an option to either disable unconditional window background gradient to gray or another option to specify gradient end color. Otherwise it looks ugly and it's not good for reading (black on gray... ugh).

You can change the strength of the gradient by changing the "contrast" option in the systemsettings->appearance->colors->options.

Setting the contrast to zero disables the gradient entirely.

That's kind of counter intuitive, but it worked, thank you. I never thought this thing is a contrast.

Eheh.
You can see it this way: contrasts increases, well, contrast between colors, notably the 2 colors used in the various gradients. 0 contrast: the two colors become the same, and the gradients disappear (as a matter of fact, the gradient is still painted, though invisible, which I could probably remove, for better performances).

side comment: I do like this gradient alot, don't find anything ugly in your screenshot, and usually runs with maximum contrast. But yeah well. Different tastes ...

Well, my eyesight is not perfect so... And by "contrast" something different usually comes to my mind. Especially "0 contrast", since as it seems to my eyes contrast is actually less when slider is more (to the right). Or something. Since there is actually an option nothing to complain about. Let's find something else :)
