Description Karol Babioch 2010-05-16 17:01:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.3)
Installed from: Archlinux Packages

Hi,

unfortunately I can't even tell whether this is a bug, or just a missing feature I want to have.

Using the Kubuntu Live CD I get a brightness indicator similar to the volume indicator as soon as you change the brightness (or the volume). It seems to be consequent to offer this kind of "interface" for both volume and brightness.

However I don't get this with my Arch installation, so either it is missing upstream (what was told me here (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=96515)) or it isn't working.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any further information on this, so I'll hope I'm not doing everything wrong.

The volume indicator

This is the volume indicator. I wish to have something similar for the brightness. I get tihs with Kubuntu, but not with Arch.

I think the forum is correct, and this feature is an Ubuntu specific add-on that is not part of the KDE Software Compilation.

This feature has been committed to trunk and will be in 4.5 (there was a similar bug somewhere else)
