I think this is a good idea :-) (btw: nice joke ;-) :-D) I agree, all the other WebKit-based browsers (and all other major browsers) have some sort of spell-checker. Even Konqueror had a nice spell-checker, so if rekonq wants a large user-base adding spell-checking would be one more step to help reach that goal.
